There are a number of Major Golf Groups that organise competitions and, in some cases, social events mainly for the benefit of La Manga Club Owners or Long-Term Residents. All of these Groups are separately identified on the Golf website but here we are highlighting each one with an explanation of what they provide and the major tournaments they run. The major groups are Real Golf (RGLMC), Residents Golf Association (RGA), Owners Championship and Ladies.

There are also private members groups available, for golfers, that are explained on the GC website but not included here.

The Major Golf Groups are:

Real Golf La Manga Club (RGLMC)

• Open to those who pay Club Fees (sports rights) or pay an Annual Golf fee. 
• There is an annual membership fee, currently 20€. Membership runs from April to March.
• Guests are allowed to play 3 times in a membership year.
• They provide members with two competitions each month, qualifying individual stableford and  qualifying 4BBB, immediately after which the participants meet for the presentation. There is a small fee to enter these competitions.
• There are three major competitions during the year, the RGLMC Club Championship including the President’s Trophies, the RGLMC Captain’s Day and  RGLMC Trofeo Fin D’Ano. Captain’s Day includes a dinner in the evening at a major venue, usually the Grand Hyatt Hotel.

Residents Golf Association (RGA)

• The RGA runs competitions each month except during August.
• After each monthly event there is a friendly social gathering for dinner or a late lunch at one of the LMC resort restaurants or those nearby.
• There is a yearly subscription, currently €30. The year runs from January to December. To join you need to play once as a guest after which you will be invited to join. The one-off joining fee is €35 but includes an RGA designed shirt.
• Owners and Long-term Residents can join the RGA.
• The monthly events are mainly Team or Matchplay but it does have three majors which are individual qualifying stableford competitions for the Millenium Trophy, President’s Day and Captain’s Day. The latter dinner is usually held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel.

Owners Championship

• Currently twice a year a tournament is organised for Owners Only, although non-owners and guests may be able to play, if there is space available, but cannot win a major prize.
• In the Summer months a 2-day event is organised which is followed by a dinner at a local venue usually the Grand Hyatt Hotel.
• In the Autumn is the main event which is the Owners Championship which takes place over 5 days (Monday to Friday). Here you play two individual qualifying stableford competitions usually on the North & West courses and after that a cut is made. For those that make the cut a further individual qualifying stableford round is held on the South course to establish who wins a prize for that year, including overall Man & Lady.
• For those that do not make the cut there is a 4BBB organised for the awarding of various Pairs trophies.
• The dinner at the end of the week is usually at the Grand Hyatt Hotel and is attended by around 200 players and guests.
• Each event both Summer & Autumn has significant prizes awarded.

Ladies

• Each month (except July & August) two events are organised, Ladies Day and “Golfer of the Year”.
• After each Ladies Day (usually a team event) there is an evening dinner or late lunch organised at one of the LMC local restaurants, or at one nearby, for the prize giving and socialising.
• Lady’s competitions have no restrictions on entry.
• Ladies Days are sponsored by Ladies with prizes, the Golfer of the Year is an individual qualifying stableford competition which culminates in the awarding of the “Golfer of Year” trophy. There is a small yearly fee to join.

January 12th - RGA Millenium Trophy

February 22nd/23rd - RGLMC Championship & President's Trophies

March 2nd - RGA President's Day (changed to 11th MAY due to weather)

May 3rd/4th - Owners Summer Tournament

September 30th - RGA Captain's Day

October 26th - RGLMC Captain's Day

November 24th to 28th - Owners Championship

December 28th - RGLMC Trofeo Fin D'Ano
